Dr. Chranjit Singh Pruthi qualified M.D. in Medicine in the year 1982 from the Government Medical College, Amritsar.
Subsequently he joined the Guru Nanak Mission Hospital, Jalandhar in June 1983 to serve the ailing humanity The patients from the lowest to the highest strata turned out in hundreds daily.
Then In April 1987, He Started his own 10 Bedded Multi specialty Hospital by the name of Pruthi Hospital in SUS Nagar in a Rented Building.
After setting up Pruthi Hospital, He felt that there was a need of providing a hospital for heart surgery in the Northern region of the country, Because at that time there was no facility for Heart Procedures and Heart Surgery in the North Region(I.e. Punjab, Himachal, Jammu), with dint of his hard work and dedication he established BBC Heart Care and it became the pioneer hospital of heart surgery; It was inaugurated by Dr. Manmohan Singh the then Finance Minister on the day next to Republic Day of 1996 i.e. 27 January, 1996.
Thereafter, Dr. Pruthi established a Multi Super Specialty Hospital in the name and style of Capitol Hospital. The Capitol Hospital an ultra-modern hospital built on an area of more than 5 acres of land and is built as per the best international design practices. The Hospital is centrally air conditioned and provides comprehensive medical treatment in the sphere of Neurology, Neurosurgery, Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery, Orthopaedics & Joint replacement, Urology, Nephrology, General Medicine, General Surgery, Radiology, Pathology, Microbiology, Nuclear Medicine (PET-CT), Surgical Oncology, Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology. The Hospital provides holistic treatment of Cancer.
Recognizing the contribution of Dr. Charnjit Singh Pruthi in the field of Medical Science, the Government of Punjab appointed him as a Member of National Health Mission in February 2019, and Member of Punjab Medical Council in 2020, Subsequently President of the Punjab Medical Council 2021.
